A compilation on the origin of the Holi Festival from Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava śāstras. There are 3 waves to this ocean. In the first wave will appear a brief synopsis of why Holi events take place and, information about the other pastimes that are related to it. As well as, the reason behind the use of colored powder and, the reason for throw and spraying colored water. The second wave is direct quotes from SB, CC, BG, NoD to verify all the points mentioned eariler. Finally, the last wave consist of a small reference catalog of Sanskrit words that are pertinent. Followed by all the verses that talk about Holi, Holika, Horika, & Dolāyātrā from Śrīla Prabhupāda works. As usual this piece follows Śrīla Prabhupāda’s system, giving the original verse, its English transliteration, word-for-word Sanskrit-English equivalents, translations and purports. This makes the book very authentic and scholarly and makes the meaning self-evident.
